
Bikeboost Sheffield is well into it's second year, and we have already had over 100 people registering to give cycling a go this Spring.
Bikeboost 2010 can boast continuation rates of up to 85% of employees still cycling to work. The scheme's last phase was at the City Council itself, where 85 people took up a loan bicycle. 38% of those previously being car users, they cycled approximately 2835 miles over 3 weeks. Over the course of 8 months Bikeboost has saved approximately 5043.5 kg of CO2 and burnt 302610 calories. Those hills do come in useful!

Cycling to work is a great way to make exercise part of your daily routine - and to enjoy the convenience of leaving the car at home. This is a great opportunity for you to be part of a fun, challenging and social activity at your work place.
There is also the added bonus that Its Free! That's right. You will get the use of a bike and accessories for the challenge period without having to pay a penny!
What is BikeBoost?
Bikeboost will lend bicycles and accessories to all participants for a month long challenge period, providing urban cycle coaching so you can ride your bike safely on-road. We will then assist you in purchasing the perfect bicycle for you, helping to improve your health, happiness, and the environment, whilst reducing congestion through a fully supported and trusted cycle to work scheme.

BikeBoost social ride! After the success of the 2010 end of season social ride, which took us around the beautiful Derwent reservoir, we hope you are ready for another!
Ride Number 2 was a lovely cycle starting from Endcliffe Park, with lots of stops to observe the local bird life.

13161 miles cycled by 674 riders signed up for this Bikeboost in 155 teams from 30 local employers, aiming for a total target of 29351 miles of cycling - this will equate to 880530 calories burnt off, and 14675.5 kg of carbon saved!
